As part of the Galway City of Film annual programme for 2025, Ardán is delighted to facilitate a Youth Facilitator Smartphone Filmmaking Training Day which will be delivered by Caroline Keane of Leaning Tree Media. The Training Day will take place this Friday, November 14th, at the Ard Rí House Hotel, in Tuam, Co. Galway (H54 V267) from 10am to 4pm.
How to film like a pro with your smartphone
Here’s some of the training that will be covered on the day:
- The fundamentals of photography/ videography
- Camera/ phone settings
- Composition
- Camera movements
- Camera angles
- Interview setup
- Sound
- Lighting
- Practical elements eg. scene setup
- Introduction to editing
- Q&A
Participants will be provided with a smartphone filmmaking starter kit. Lunch is also included. Please note: youth facilitators working with the Traveller community in Galway will be prioritised for this session.
