Little Cinema & Galway City of Film 48 Hour Challenge is back for 2025!
Little Cinema & Galway City of Film 48 Hour Challenge is back for 2025!

The teams have been finalised for the 2025 Little Cinema & Galway City of Film 48 Hour Challenge and the big weekend is just around the corner! The Challenge will be launched on Thursday, August 21st in the PorterShed, followed by two days of filmmaking madness, and the screening and awards ceremony will be on August 24th in the Town Hall Theatre!

About the 2025 application process

Once the info and networking session had taken place on August 6th at the Portershed, applications opened the next day at 10am and by 10:13am there were 14 applications in!

The Little Cinema team initially had 10 teams signed up and the time difference between the ones who didn’t make it was only a matter of seconds. Because of this they have made the unprecedented decision to extend the Challenge to 12 teams this year. They are very grateful to everyone who applied and sincerest apologies to those who didn’t make it in.

These 12 teams will again make fantastic 5 minute films in Galway City & County, and they’ll all be vying for the top prize of €500 and the many other awards on offer at the film screening.

If you would still like the opportunity to join a team, you can fill out the form here – Little Cinema will be sharing details with the team captains and they may get in touch with you.

Booking tickets for the screening

Follow Little Cinema for updates and to book your tickets for the Sunday night screening  which will be held on August 24th in the Town Hall (tickets available to book from the 19th).
