Female Landscape

The UNESCO Cities of Film Łódź and Potsdam invite you to the second edition of the joint project FEMALE LANDSCAPE, which will take place on 18.11.2024 in the Thalia Cinema in Potsdam and on 24.11.2024 at the National Film Culture Centre in Łódź. The project aims to expand the field for the exchange of knowledge and professional experience between female filmmakers from Poland and Germany. We will show the polish docuemantary VIKA! at 6pm on Monday 18.11.2024 in Potsdam and have a Q&A with the director Agnieszka Zwiefka. Tickets for the screening are free of charge.

Afterwards at 8pm there will be a discussion and networking in the Bar at Thalia Cinema with Agnieszka Zwiefka, Sabrina Naumann (Sound Editor; Women Film Sound Network) and Claudia Mattai del Moro (Production Sound Mixer; Women Film Sound Network), moderated by Lisa Nawrocki (Focal Point UNESCO City of Film Potsdam). Agnieszka Zwiefka is a documentary film director and producer with dozens of awards at major film festivals to her credit. Member of the European Film Academy, EWA European Women’s Audiovisual Network and the Polish Filmmakers Association. Her latest film ‘Drzewa milczą’ was awarded the Golden Hobby-Horse at the Krakow Film Festival.

Sabrina Naumann (Sound Editor) and Claudia Mattai del Moro (Production Sound Mixer) are both working in the department sound for film in Germany and are active members in the association Filmtonfrauen e.V. (engl.: Women Film Sound Network). It is a Germany-based network of women film professionals working nationally and internationally – members include both experienced and up-and-coming location sound recordists, sound assistants, sound editors, sound designers, dubbing editors, foley artists, and re-recording mixers. Filmtonfrauen e.V. aims to collectively promote the presence and achievements of women in the film industry. Currently, only 4% of film sound professionals are women!
