The film “Bars” by the young Palestinian director Walid Zedanej won the award for best film “Ratka Ilievska-Lale”, which is awarded by the International Film Festival of Mobile Phone Films – Mobile Film Festival. This year the festival was held only online, from November 30 to December 6, and about 90 films were available for free on the Video on Demand platform Cinesquare.net.
The awards for the festival were decided by a three-member jury composed of: American director and professor Carl Bardos, Goran Naumovski, cinematographer and professor at the University of Europa Prima and Zlatko Zhelevski, film critic.
The award for the most inventive film went to “2040” by Nadine Alekhina from Russia. The award for best original idea went to “Odd One Out” by Andrew Robb from Australia. “I sleep a little and dream a lot” by Paolo Santamaria from Italy received a special recognition from the festival.
The Mobile Film Festival was held for the 11th time under the motto “Think differently”. The films were divided into three programs. All films at the festival were available in 13 countries in the region, where the VoD platform is available. With that, the Mobile Film Festival this year has grown into a regional film festival.
More than 1000 films recorded with a mobile phone arrived at our address, and Vesna Ristovska took care of the selection. Unfortunately, this year we did not have a single Macedonian film. Mobile Film Festival is organized by the production company “KT-Film and Media” from Bitola, and is supported by the Ministry of Culture and the City of Skopje.
